Radiology Techs, Assist
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities for radiology technicians will be excellent. A radiology technician operates diagnostic imaging machines like CT scans and magnetic resonance. Technicians wear lead shields to protect themselves from harmful rays emitted from a machine. Educational requirements vary, but most radiology technicians earn an Associate’s Degree. In addition, each state has different requirements regarding what license and exams a radiology assistant must complete before beginning work. However, most employers prefer to hire radiology technicians that are certified by one of the national radiology technician associations. A radiology technician will earn $45,000 to $60,000 per year based on their level of experience and if they specialize in operating a particular machine. In addition, individuals that can operate multiple diagnostic imaging machines will be most attractive to potential employers.
