Allied Health: Other Jobs
Allied Health RN
Allied Health RNs are health professionals that provide care to patients as part of an overall team in addition to the patient’s nurse and physician. A registered nurse is not part of an allied health team, but an RN does work with other professions in allied health. Depending on the patient’s medical condition, the allied health team may include a physical therapist, respiratory therapist, or a home health assistant.
The Bureau of Labor Statistics predicts that job opportunities for individuals working in the allied health field will be excellent as the health care system continues to grow. The salary for an individual working in allied health varies, but can range from $25,000 to $75,000 per year depending on the particular job. Also, an RN earns $50,000 to $65,000 per year.
