As an Army Family Nurse Practitioner, you will diagnose and treat a wide variety of health conditions and provide comprehensive care. You will use your advanced clinical expertise to help ensure the overall health and readiness of soldiers and their families, playing a critical role in the Army's mission of maintaining physical and mental readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive primary care services, including assessments, physical exams, health screenings, immunizations, and preventive care for soldiers and their families.
- Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
- Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate.
- Educate patients on disease prevention, health maintenance, and wellness practices.
- Perform minor medical procedures, such as wound care, suturing, and other treatments.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians and specialists, to ensure optimal patient care.
- Provide health education to individuals and groups on topics like nutrition, stress management, and physical fitness.
- Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with military healthcare standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
- U.S. citizenship.
- Master’s degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from an accredited institution.
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
- Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by a recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain).
- Strong clinical skills with an emphasis on family-centered care.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to work in diverse environments and with military personnel.
