As an Army Family Nurse Practitioner, you will diagnose and treat a wide variety of health conditions and provide comprehensive care. You will use your advanced clinical expertise to help ensure the overall health and readiness of soldiers and their families, playing a critical role in the Army's mission of maintaining physical and mental readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive primary care services, including assessments, physical exams, health screenings, immunizations, and preventive care for soldiers and their families.
Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
Prescribe medications, treatments, and therapies as appropriate.
Educate patients on disease prevention, health maintenance, and wellness practices.
Perform minor medical procedures, such as wound care, suturing, and other treatments.
Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including physicians and specialists, to ensure optimal patient care.
Provide health education to individuals and groups on topics like nutrition, stress management, and physical fitness.
Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with military healthcare standards and protocols.
Qualifications:
U.S. citizenship.
Master’s degree in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus from an accredited institution.
Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license (or eligibility to obtain licensure).
Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) by a recognized certifying body (e.g., ANCC, AANP).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to obtain).
Strong clinical skills with an emphasis on family-centered care.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Willingness to work in diverse environments and with military personnel.
