PUBLIC HEALTH ADMINISTRATOR NEEDED



Washington County Health Department is seeking a Public Health Administrator. This
department head will supervise and manage staff and daily operations of the health
department, including but not limited to procurement, grant application and management,
working within and creating budget proposals, and community engagement with stakeholders.
The Administrator works under the direction of the Washington County Board of Health.



The Administrator must possess the following minimum requirements for education and
experience as outlined in Ill. Admin. Code tit. 77 Section 600.310:
A masters degree in public health from a college or university accredited by the North Central
Association or other nationally recognized accrediting agency AND 2 years of full-time
administrative experience in public health;
A graduate degree in a related field from a nationally recognized accrediting agency, which may
include, but shall not be limited to a masters degree in public administration, nursing,
environmental health, community health, health education, AND 2 years of full-time
administrative experience in public health;
A bachelors degree from a nationally recognized accrediting agency AND 4 years of full-time
administrative experience, of which at least 2 years MUST be in public health; or
An incumbent Public Health Administrator or acting in the capacity of a public health
administrator either already approved by IDPH or exempt from approval specified in Section
600.300 of the Ill Admin. Code tit 77.



Candidates will need to provide resume, transcripts, and a completed Personal Information Form to
submit for approval from the Illinois Department of Public Health prior to any offers being extended.
Pay based on public health experience with a possible range of $65,000-$90,000.
