The Patient Services Coordinator performs clerical and patient service tasks at the front desk of University Health Services and provides customer service for a diverse population of university age patients in a university setting. They coordinate all operational support functions in a patient care area such as overseeing the environmental conditions of the office and patient waiting areas, coordinating non-medical equipment repairs, inventorying, and ordering supplies, assisting in the orientation of new staff to clerical procedures.



Required Qualifications:




  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and three years of general office experience or two years of office or customer service experience in a health care setting or equivalent education/experience Strong written and oral communication skills Ability to prioritize and multi-task in dynamic work environment Ability to work with diverse populations

  • Ability to handle confidential information



Preferred Qualifications:




  • Work experience in an Urgent Care, Family Practice, or Higher Education Clinic

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant

  • Experience using an electronic medical record

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and medical terminology

  • Knowledge and experience using CPT and ICD-10 coding for insurance billing

  • Basic accounting knowledge and experience
