Holston Valley holds the distinction of being the state’s first location to offer transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). This type of surgery offers an alternative for patients who would be at higher risk with open-heart surgery. Holston Valley Medical Center has a Level III NICU and is designated as one of six Level I trauma centers in the state of Tennessee.

Requirements
Responsibilities
* Pre-anesthesia assessment
* Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
* Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
* Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
* Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
* Performance of clinical intervention as needed

Requirements
* Current license as a registered professional nurse
* Graduation from an accredited program of nurse anesthesia education
* Certified or recertified by the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
