Sterling Medical is seeking a skilled Psychiatric-Mental Health Registered Nurse to live and work in the United Kingdom! We are offering relocation assistance, benefits and great compensation. This great opportunity is located at Lakenheath, United Kingdom. You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of U.S military and civilian personnel.


Royal Air Force Lakenheath, United Kingdom , is located 70 miles northeast of London and 25 miles northeast of Cambridge. The Liberty Wing consists of more than 4,500 active-duty military members, over 1,000 British and U.S. civilians.




Responsibilities:



  • Under general supervision, to provide professional nursing care to emotionally disturbed and/or mentally ill patients for Behavioral Health and Recovery Services; to work with clinical and case management staff to coordinate care and assist in treatment plans for clients; and to perform related work.

  • Conducts intake assessments through interviews with patients and relatives to gather case history.

  • Plans and provides nursing care for patients.

  • Makes nursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommends treatment options.

  • Consults with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients.

  • Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications.

  • Arranges further medical attention when necessary.

  • Assists the client in understanding the nature of emotional disturbances and accepting the need for treatment.

  • Assists in maintaining a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.

  • Test for vital signs of pain and ensures treatments of pain.

  • Documents all patient information on medical charts and follows physician’s written orders.

  • Maintains patient confidentiality.

  • Maintains accurate records and documentation of patient treatments, immunizations and laboratory results according to standard medical recordkeeping.

  • Performs administrative assignments such as filing, answering phones, typing, and completing progress notes in the computer system.


Qualifications:





  • Minimum of three years of experience with levels of care to include post-hospital and acute care illness stabilization.

  • A minimum of three years of experience with a variety of psychopharmacological agents used in patient treatment.

  • Must have experience providing services such as psychiatric nursing or behavioral health and wellness counseling for 24 recent consecutive months of direct patient specialty care experience.

  • Certification: Certified/certification eligible by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Psychiatric and Mental health Nurse with 2 years full time experience in mental health.

  • Working Knowledge of the military health care system including TRICARE health benefits.
