Responsible for preparing clinic financial reporting and internal accounting policies and procedures, including the general ledger, financial reporting, capital andoperating expenses, budgets, and cash management.


  1. Directs and maintains all general accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, annual financial audits, monthly financial statement preparation, monthly variance analysis.

  2. Prepares monthly financial statements.

  3. Formulates financial planning activities including annual operating budget preparation and quarterly updates.

  4. Monthly accounts payable and cash management.

  5. Reconciliation of bank and credit card statements.

  6. Responsible for monthly cashier audits.

  7. Analyzes expenditures, develops financing strategies, and ensures appropriate income/cash flow.

  8. Works with IT on financial computer operations and conversions.

  9. Provides monthly reporting of physician production and ancillary analysis.

  10. Responsible for accounting of physician annual CME/dues budgets, and point distribution.

  11. Quarterly and annual tax reports. (sales/1099's)

  12. Maintains executive and physician Payroll.

  13. Retirement Plan distributions, bi-weekly deposits, and election form distribution.

  14. Maintains capital expenditure listing.

  15. Maintains strictest of confidentiality.

  16. Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.

The job holder must demonstrate competencies applicable to the job position.

EDUCATION: Bachelor degree in finance or related field experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three years of fiscal management experience including one year with a health care organization preferred.


  1. Knowledge of the principles of financial management sufficient to manage staff and fiscal requirements of the clinic.

  2. Knowledge of clinic financial and budgetary practices to develop annual budget, analyze financial data and patterns, and prepare financial statements.

  3. Knowledge of clinic's strategic business objectives and employee performance objectives.

  4. Knowledge of governmental and health care fiscal regulations and reporting requirements.

  5. Knowledge of computer systems, spreadsheet and financial systems programs and applications.


  1. Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision-making to achieve organizational objectives.

  2. Skill in analyzing clinic operations as they relate to financial objectives, costs, and rate levels.

  3. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and   the public.

  4. Skill in identifying and resolving accounting and financial problems.
