Description:

Under the direction of the Chair and the Associate Chair of Outpatient Imaging, the Director of Radiology Faculty Group Practice (FGP) supports the operations of the outpatient radiology sites, excluding the Long Island Division sites. In concordance with NYU Langone Health's institutional policies & procedures, the Director of Radiology FGP is responsible for the ensuring that the current practice goals are achieved.


 Operational Performance. Plans, directs and coordinates the day-to-day activities of multiple ambulatory practices.


Implement regulatory policy & industry operational changes ensuring regulatory compliance for all ambulatory sites.


Maintain communication and relationship between Radiology and FGP Leadership.


Understand/implement new practice management products/technologies to enhance operational efficiencies and revenue enhancement.


Liaison between radiology operational leadership and management/staff of non-Long Island Division ambulatory sites.


Collaborate closely with Long Island Division ambulatory site Senior Director to ensure that there are operational efficiencies across all ambulatory practices for Department of Radiology.


Implement approved recommendations including but not limited to salary changes, alternative staffing models, practice closers.


Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.


Manage the Physician Liaison team in executing physician liaison/marketing strategy for the Department of Radiology.


Utilize physician liaisons to maintain existing referral pathways and create new pathways for radiology referrals.


Manage the day to day of the physician liaison team to maintain referral pathways; addressing any problem areas.


Collaborate closely with representatives from the Office of Communication & Marketing to ensure proper NYU Langone Heath Branding where necessary.


Monitor and report physician liaison activities and progress.


Patient Experience


Manage the patient ombudsman service.


Manage positive/negative patient experience feedback and communicate feedback to outpatient radiology staff/management.


Manage/troubleshoot patient experience issues on a timely basis; escalation as necessary.


Lead efforts with staff/management and patient experience teams to increase radiology patient experience.


Financial Review and approve all expenses being charged to practices.


Support the preparation of the FY Budgets.


Supports Radiology Leadership in the preparation of business plans for new practices and/or lines of business.


Identifies expense reduction strategies for ambulatory practices.


Reporting & Meetings


Supports process for creation/dissemination of operational reports for both internal and external stakeholders. Reporting includes but is not limited to backlog data, scheduling reports, overtime analysis marketing reports.


Identifies gaps & problem solves any gaps in operational reporting.


Conducts/leads a subset of ambulatory operational meetings for the Department of Radiology.


Represents the operational interests of the Department of Radiology in institutional meetings.


Administrative Departmental Support Serves as a resource to staff for issues regarding ambulatory operational process.


Collaborates with various internal and external parties including FGP, Faculty Records, Treasury, Finance, Insurance Department, Legal, and Research Finance.


System Updates Maintenance


Keeps up to date on all available operational systems/tools in order to support the ambulatory operations for the department.


Staff Management


Serves as a member of the operations team.


Provides supervision for ambulatory operations staff.


Mentors and develops a team of direct reports, hiring, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and building effective team dynamics.


Responsible for setting staff goals.


Responsible for disciplinary action as needed.


Minimum Qualifications:


Minimum of 5 years of operational management.


B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Business Administration, a Master's level degree and/or CPA preferred, with progressive leadership experience in an academic medical center or similar organization.


Excellent knowledge of ambulatory operations in an academic medical center setting.


Excellent budget, cost control skills, organization skills and a management style which develops and encourages excellent relationships and communication with community, the SOM administrative and medical staff. Outstanding ability to obtain, analyze, and understand large operational datasets in Excel or other software and then translate this understanding into actionable insights.


Analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills required to interact successfully with professional groups and committees. Candidate must have a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage several projects simultaneously.


 Preferred Qualifications:


 MBA or MHA or Master's degree in finance, account, or business administration is preferred.
