Your day.




As a Clinical Pharmacy Manager you will need to know how to:



  • Manages the formulary process including timely and effective review, addition,
    and/or deletion of new drugs.

  • Coordinates with the SCL Health System Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
    in collaboration with SCL Health Leadership, Care Sites, and Partners.

  • Develops and oversees clinical protocols and programs, including antimicrobial
    stewardship, to support appropriate drug use to achieve the best clinical
    outcomes, safety, and support achievement of valuebased purchasing metrics
    with drugrelated components. Coordinates drug utilization evaluations to
    ensure drugs are used in accordance with internal guidelines and best practices.

  • Coordinates medication safety program, including review of medication errors,
    trends, and implementation of medication safety initiatives.

  • Develops and coordinates clinical pharmacy education, standardization of clinical
    pharmacy programs, and documentation of clinical pharmacy interventions across
    SCL Health. Develops and oversees clinical technology, including medication
    infusion pumps and electronic resources.

  • Manages daily operations, supervises personnel, ensures functionality of
    equipment and coordinates the provision of patient care services. Collaborates
    with the management team in planning, program development, human resource
    management, budget planning, customer satisfaction, patient safety,
    communication and compliance with regulatory agencies.

  • Oversees and coordinates compliance for the clinical pharmacy services. Leads
    problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service.
    Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a
    department/unit team and interdepartmentally to facilitate that departments
    ability to meet its goals and objectives. Ensures coordination of care with other
    departments to promote the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.
    Participates in interdisciplinary committees throughout the organization.

  • Mentors coaches and influences site associates to perform effectively ensure
    safe, quality patient care, promoting associate flexibility and cross-training, and
    providing timely and effective communication to associates and physicians.

  • Manages human resource functions such as interviewing, selection, orientation,
    education/training, feedback, performance evaluation, and policy and procedure
    development. Maintains personnel files, including documentation of appropriate
    staff orientation, competency, training, discipline and performance reviews.
    Oversees timekeeping and payroll. Collaborates with HR concerning employee
    issues and performance. Conducts employee coaching, counseling, disciplinary
    actions and annual appraisals. Monitors staff adherence to hospital and system
    policies and procedures.

  • Assists in the development of the department's operating and capital budget
    preparation and variance reporting. Participates in fiscal accountability of
    services, business plans for new services, and the organization of work within the
    department. Prepares and presents reports and statistical data.

  • Manages and oversees clinical teams to achieve quality, safety, clinical and drug
    utilization metrics. Leads designated clinical/quality/safety initiatives. Assists in
    development and measurement of clinical performance measures. Partners with
    leadership team to identify and drive quality and performance improvement
    initiatives. Participates in establishing mechanisms to design, measure, maintain,
    and improve the performance and quality of clinical pharmacy services. Ensures
    compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental
    policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety,
    environmental and infection control standards. Participates with management
    team and staff in development of action plans in line with the organization's
    strategic initiatives and goals.




Your experience.




We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:



  • Graduate from an accredited College of Pharmacy, required
  • MBA or MS, preferred
  • Valid license as a Pharmacist in the State of practice, required
  • MTM; BCPS or other BPS, preferred
  • Five (5) years working as a Pharmacist in a clinical and hospital pharmacy setting is
  • Three (3) years of pharmacy experience in a lead or supervisory role is required.
  • Ten (10) years in clinical and hospital pharmacy settings, preferred
