  • Pulmonary Function/Bronchoscopy Lab lead provides management and leadership in the respiratory therapy department and specialty areas. Oversees pulmonary/bronchoscopy departmental operations and coordinates clinical activities. Participates in the recruitment, hiring of staff, as well as schedules, supervises, educates, develops, and disciplines staff. Assists in the development of protocols and performance improvement activities to assess processes and outcomes.

  • Performs patient care as necessary measures, analyzes and records pulmonary function procedures, performs non-invasive pulmonary stress tests in the outpatient services area. 
  •  
  • The Pulmonary/Bronchoscopy lab lead serves as an intermediate to a high-level resource capable of independent work with the Pulmonary/Bronchoscopy Laboratory when performing routine pulmonary function testing and bronchoscopy procedures partnering with providers from National Jewish Health and Kaiser Peremenente
  •  
  • Assists and leads  advanced procedures with interventional cardiology and interventional pulmonology providers::
  •  
 
     
  1. Invasive right heart catheterization graded exercise testing (iCPET)
  2.  
  3. Robotic assisted bronchoscopies with CT navigation
  4.  
  5. Lung navigational assisted bronchoscopies
  6.  
  7. EBUS-(endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy)
  8.  
  9. Rigid bronchoscopy, airway stenting, airway dilation, and laser debulking
  10.  
 

Qualifications:

 
     
  • Graduate of AMA approved program for Respiratory Therapy, required
  •  
  • Current License for the Respiratory Therapy in the state of practice, required 
  •  
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist, required
  •  
  • Two (2) years of hospital experience including critical care as Therapist, required
  •  
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association, required
  •  
  • ACLS, PALS, NRP, preferred
  •  
  • Membership in national professional organization (AARC, NBRC), preferred
  •
