AFCS is looking for a Clinical Psychologist (NH-03) to join the team at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. This federal job offers a rewarding and exciting career with exceptional benefits!  


In this position you will serve as a Clinical Psychologist responsible for providing highly skilled psychology services including psychotherapeutic, evaluation, and consultation services to beneficiaries of the 72nd Medical Group at Tinker Air Force Base.


Recruitment, relocation, and retention incentives may be provided based on experience.


Additional education, post-doctoral supervision, and evidence based treatment training may also be provided.


Salary Range is $77,488.00 - $119,787.00 based on experience.


Duties and Responsibilities


-       Provides evidence based psychotherapy for adult beneficiaries with a wide variety of complex psychiatric problems


-       Establishes treatment plans, annotates adjustments as required over the course of therapy


-       Applies multiple therapeutic techniques including individual, group, couples, family, supportive, crisis intervention, and behavioral therapies or other recognized treatment strategies based upon accepted theories, principles and practices of psychology including brief problem-focused psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and client-centered therapy


-       Screens and interview patients and performs neuropsychological evaluations using professional knowledge of specific concepts, principles, procedures, and practices related to psychological counseling


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)


-       Professional knowledge of evaluating, administering, scoring, and interpreting psychological tests, formulating treatment plans, and employing evidence-based treatments for a full range of psychiatric disorders


-       Knowledge of Air Force, DHA, and DoD administrative procedures relevant to the various aspects of Mental Health programs


-       Ability to diagnose IAW Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association and the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems (ICD) of the World Health Organization


-       Skill in establishing and maintain effective, collegial working relationships


-       Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in order to guide, direct, mentor, motivate, and provide consultation as appropriate to members of clinic, other medical professionals, and military leaders


-       Skill in use of various software programs, tools, and techniques required in order to produce reports, databases, graphs, spreadsheets, presentations, and other written products


-       Ability to clearly and accurately document patient care; provide guidance and consultant services to medical professionals, managers, and clients


-       Ability to work well with others in a team approach


-       Ability to evaluate, diagnose, and treat psychological disorders


Qualifications


-       Must have successfully completed a clinically-related doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in psychology


-       Must be privileged by the Credential Board at the employing Medical Treatment Facility


-       Post Graduate Training Certificates (Residency or Internship)


-       3 to 5 years of experience that includes doctoral and clinical hours can be reviewed on a case by case basis depending on experience/resume
