The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is currently seeking qualified Full-Time Licensed Clinical Social Workers to fill exciting new positions that fall under the Air Force's True North Resiliency Program.  Currently hiring at Kirtland Air Force Base, New Mexico (Greater Albuquerque area).

If you are a LCSW able to provide a full range of professional social work services with the goal and abilities to help build up resiliency, enhance human performance, and improve overall mission effectiveness, our Airmen need you!  You will be expected to provide clinical and administrative duties that focus on education and prevention, psychosocial assessment and diagnosis, and evidenced-based interventions and treatment.

SALARY: $77,976 - $101,373 per year


  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Must have a Master’s in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education is required.  Substitute degrees will not be accepted

  • Selective Placement Factor:  Possess a current and unrestricted license to practice clinical social work independently in any one of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, or the U.S Virgin Islands

  • Practice will require privileging for independent practice by the Credentials Committee at the employing Medical Treatment Facility

  • Must have at least 1-2 years’ experience as an LCSW

  • Evident that you must have practiced as an INDEPENDENT social worker WITHIN the last two years

 Other significant facts pertaining to this position:

  • Must possess a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft

  • Incumbent may share on-call duty during weeknights and/or weekends on a rotational basis as required consistent with other mental health professionals of the same specialty performing like duties

  • This position may be identified as having “regular contact with children,” requiring a State Criminal History Repository (SCHR) check to be completed on any person selected for the position

  • Completion of appropriate clinical and administrative duties may involve “after hours” care or work in addition to regular clinic hours
