El Paso has many unique aspects to enjoy.

It has all of the attributes of a major, emerging metropolitan core (est. 700,000 population), while at the same time, maintaining distinct, friendly and safe neighborhoods to live in.

Averaging 302 days of sunshine annually (or 83% of daylight hours per the National Weather Service), El Paso is known as "The Sun City".

With year round, non-humid, climate conditions, El Paso offers numerous outdoor recreation activities for the daring and non-daring: biking, hiking, rock-climbing, horseback riding, live horse racing track, swimming, golf, tennis, camping, festivals, concerts, skiing (3 hours north in Ruidoso, NM), the Annual Sun Bowl (college football), and professional AAA baseball.(team name, Chihuahuas)

El Paso offers bountiful educational and cultural opportunities through the University of Texas El Paso (UTEP), Texas Tech University Health Science Branch, New Mexico State University (45 miles north), and 18 museums and numerous other art galleries.

Like many mid-sized cities, downtown El Paso is experiencing its own urban renaissance offering appealing contemporary housing, along with exciting new dining, entertainment and socializing events in its urban core.

From a travel standpoint, El Paso is the southwest’s epicenter to the Pacific and Gulf coasts and southern Rocky Mountains.  For instance, one 10-hour drive can take an El Pasoan  west to San Diego, north to Denver, or east to Corpus Christi/Houston.  Not interested in driving, the El Paso International airport is user friendly with many great flight options.

Just 45 miles north of El Paso is Las Cruces, NM, an area also known for great housing and retirement opportunities.  Las Cruces is the epicenter to numerous satellite communities that focus on southwest culture, history, food, arts and crafts.

With population growth expected in both El Paso and Las Cruces, the distance between both cities seem to diminish every year.  Commuting for work, entertainment or leisure activity between both cities is quite common.
