Our Center for Women & Infants at Saint Joseph Hospital was designed exclausively for new moms and babies. Every inch of this special floor is dedicated to the care, comfort and well-being of new mothers and infants. With 18 expansive labor and delivery rooms with large jetted tubs, a dedicated elevator that goes directly to the floor and 42 private rooms that serve as a home away from home after childbirth, Saint Joseph Hospital is a great place for families.  We also have a Level III NICU on-site.

Your day.

 

As an L&D SSC / Charge RN, you need to know how to:

 

  • Supervise and/or provide direct patient care. Assist and support staff in responding to and problem solving situations related to patient/ family complaints, Physician concerns, risk management, associate safety, and Hospital safety.
  • Respond to patient emergencies as needed. Respond as the charge or lead person for disasters.
  • Collaborate with the staffing office and adjust numbers of staff for census changes during the shift.
  • Communicate with the oncoming Charge Nurse about census, staffing, pending admissions and discharges, any problems she/ he needs to be aware of, and any patient information that will be helpful in making assignments.
  • Support unit management team in managing department productivity/staffing and timekeeping, and coordinating unit activities.
  • Perform evaluations, coaching and disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Participate in hospital committees as unit representative as needed.

 

Your experience.

 

We hire people, not resumes. But we also expect excellence, which is why we require:

 

  • ASN / ADN from an accredited program with the ability to obtain your BSN from an accredited program within four (4) years of hire, required
  • Current Colorado RN license or compact license with the ability to obtain Colorado RN license, required
  • Current BLS endorsed by the American Heart Association and ACLS certifications, required
  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience, required
  • At least two (2) years of leadership experience, preferred
