Sterling Medical is looking for CMA


On Site at United State Coast Guard Clinic


Honolulu, HI


Clinic Services are provided Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 4:30 pm, 40 hr week

Qualifications:


Education/Certifications:



  • A certificate or Associate degree as a CMA/MA from a state accredited program and 12 months experience with in the preceding 36 months, or,

  • Certification from a military medical assistant (i.e. Health Service Technician, Hospital Corpsman) ''A'' school and 12 months experience within the preceding 36 months, or,

  • 36 months experience within the preceding 60 months as a medical assistant in a private practice and completed the requirements for certification. The National Commission for Certifying Agencies, part of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, accredits four certifications for medical assistants:


 


Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants


(AAMA)


Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from the American Medical Technologists National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing


Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association


 Certification:


Maintain current certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) for the Health Care Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), American Safety & Health Institute (ASHI) or the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP).


Duties: Including but not limited to:



  • Assess patients needs for CMA/MA care, plans for Medical interventions, assess the effectiveness of the interventions and alters the Medical plan and interventions appropriately;

  • Administers oxygen, subcutaneous and intra-muscular medication;

  • Prepares patients for surgical and or diagnostic procedures;

  • Prepares, operates, and monitors specialized equipment such as cardiac monitors, defibrillators, etc.;
