You currently are a Certified Registered Central Service Technician with at least 3 years current work experience in Sterile Processing.


You have an understanding of sterile processing and conforms to the compliance with applicable regulatory agencies related to SPD and are excited to provide the necessary education to meet regulatory guidelines.


You have a great understanding of sterile processing and are comfortable with supporting the daily operations to achieve goals.

Your day


As an Instrument and Education Sterile Processing Coordinator you know that every day is different, which is why you need to know how to:

  • Schedule regular in-services to further the professional development of the staff

  • Assist in annual united-based competencies for technicians

  • Act as a System Administrator for Instrument Tracking/Management System

  • Act as an SPM expert to staff and SPD leadership

  • Pulls SPM reports as necessary
  • Create and keep count sheets and recipe cards up to date for all instruments

  • Develop bin locations for tracking, ease of retrieval and par leveling of all instrumentation

  • Assist with education, orientation and in-service programs for all Sterile Processing staff

  • Ensures best practices for instrument reprocessing of surgical instrumentation followed in accordance of The Joint Commission, AORN, AAMI, CDC, EPA and FDA

  • Utilizes One Source for instruction for use maintaining education

  • Participates in the interview process in the selection of new staff members

  • Has an understanding of and conforms to standard procedures and methods used to decontaminate, clean inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, store and distribute items and instrumentation within applicable Federal, State and other regulatory agencies including Joint Commission. 

Your experience

  • High school or GED

  • At least 3 years current Sterile Processing work experience, Required

  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician Required

  • Certified Instrument Specialist and Certified Endoscope Preprocessor, Preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Ability to work a physically demanding position entailing heavy lifting, pushing and pulling for a majority of the shift.
