Intensive Care Nurse - ICU Nurse - Travel - (ICU RN)
Medical Surgical ICU with some Nuero
30 Beds
Top 10 Diagnosis/Procedures: CHF, DM, HTN, Sepsis, Stroke, MI, Trauma, Neurosurgical, Respiratory Failure, GI concerns,
Any special procedure done on the unit? Zoll-targeted Temp Management, hypothermia protocol; Cheetah-non-invasive cardiac monitoring; NxStage-CRRT
Common Equiment: Bbraun smart pumps, Curlin-PCA, Phillips monitoring
Nurse Patient Ratio: 1:2, 1:3, occassional 1:1
Drips: Levophed, epinephrine, Neosynephrine, Vasopressin most common
Will float as needed
Excellent teamwork, Intensivists during the day. Hospitalist and NP/PA at night. Busiest ED in state-high acuity ICU. Great skills.
We have a 30 bed ICU with a mix of medical, cardiac, neurosurgical/trauma and surgical patients.. Our acuity is high and we get many admissions on both shifts but majority come after 7pm. During this time the nurse should be able to function well independently and assess and communicate needs to the hospitalist/NP. We do have NP's at night. We do have great teamwork here so they would always have help.
