Qualifications/Duties: Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless Bedford is looking for a Grievance Coordinator Registered Nurse.
Full Time: M - F 8am-5pm
Min. Education required: Associates Degree. Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing Program. RNs hired after January 2017 require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.
Min. Experience required: 5 years healthcare experience (required). RN or Registered/Certified Healthcare professional (required). 5 years progressive quality or customer service line experience in a healthcare setting preferred, 3 years of Service Excellence experience required.
Minimum required skills:
Advanced computer skills to analyze clinical data by using office software applications.
Experienced user of office desktop publishing applications, Microsoft Office, Power Point, and other presentation software.


Ability to organize and analyze statistical data utilizing spreadsheet applications. Previous experience producing excellent business correspondence, and creation of business forms.
Good project management and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal, written communications and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.


High level of confidentiality, ethics, and professionalism. Must have excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to communicate clear and precise information and instructions as needed to patients, medical, and hospital staff.
The Grievance Coordinator RN role serves as a resource to entity leaders and provides the opportunity for a motivated individual to gain entity operational experience, develop professional relationships and skills, and establish a solid regulatory knowledge base. In addition to tasks and interactions related to the above listed required skills, the functions of the role include conducting investigation and reviewing medical records against pre-established criteria for screening of cases in regards to clinical review for complaints/ grievances and personal property loss. Delegate tasks as appropriate to department leaders and resources. Data entry, tracking, trending, analysis and reporting, and database management, related to the grievance and personal property loss process in accordance with CMS guidelines. Provide training, education, and policy development related to the grievance process, CMS guidelines, and the event reporting tool. Work closely with patients, families, hospital leaders, and frontline staff, as well as other entities and departments such as Compliance, Legal, Health Information Services, and Central Business Office to review, respond, and suggest relevant mitigation or process improvement. Support the Manager of Patient Safety and Risk, able to manage day-to-day risk events in their absence. Scribe and report Safety Events to the entity via the daily Safety Brief. Joint Commission readiness responsibilities including managing grievance database and reports, patient rights and responsibilities, and regulatory standards related to Acute, Outpatient, and Behavioral healthcare.
