Geisinger Medical Center in Danville PA is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join their team. In this position, you will use radioactive materials to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses or injuries.
This role works under the general supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Technical Specialist and reports directly to the Nuclear Medicine Team Leader.



MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Calibrates and assays isotope doses; prepares radioisotopes and radiopharmaceuticals.
Explains procedures and administers radiopharmaceuticals to patients; positions patients for procedures; provides protection to patients and personnel in accordance with prescribed safety standards.
Calibrates equipment and performs camera and computer quality control; operates selected equipment to perform radionuclide imaging including scanning, organ blood flow studies, organ function studies and PET/CT studies; processes images.
Performs semi-in-vitro studies in wet lab.
Utilizes RIS and EPIC Systems to maintain information required for accurate patient records.
Participates in educational training of students, including scanning techniques and patient care.
Follows policies and procedures to assure radiation safety. Confirms patient ID and DOB, pregnancy statues, and proper film badge use and return.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology or training program and registered by the ARRT and/or NMTCB in Nuclear Medicine required.
CT certification required.
