Current CPR certification.
Current BLS card.
Five years of progressive nursing experience in an acute care environment, with progressive leadership opportunities.

POSITION SUMMARY: Occupational Therapist

The Occupational Therapist assesses the functional needs of the patients and sets appropriate goals for that patient; provides direct patient care, evaluates outcomes, consults with other specialists as needed; reassesses patient's functional needs and adjusts care plan as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcome; documents evaluations and treatment goals and plans; provides correct information on Medicare, Medi-Cal and all other forms; regularly updates documentation and maintains all required prescriptions and signatures; documents the course of patient care including progress made and continuing need for treatment; provides correct statistics and billing information on all OT patients; provides patient and family education on tasks and resources that will assist with continued functional independence; attends hospital and community meetings as appropriate; serves on various committees, and performs other duties as assigned.

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Occupational Therapist is directly accountable to the Occupational Therapy Supervisor and the Director of Rehab Services.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

The Occupational Therapist has the authority and the responsibility of supervising the support staff, students and new graduates, and acts as a resources to promote occupational therapy within the community.
