Job Description:

Do you have experience in medical billing and a passion for helping people? Join the Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center, which is currently seeking a qualified part time (benefit eligible), day shift Patient Accounts Representative!

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

Billing assigned accounts to seek the highest reimbursement possible within a timely manner Analyzing and reviewing assigned accounts from the time of inception to final payment in order to ensure payer-specific billing requirements are met Providing follow-up to ensure timely and accurate payments are received

The ideal candidate will exhibit outstanding customer service skills, the ability to work under pressure to meet financial cycle deadlines and be able to maintain sensitivity to patients and families and exhibit tact and understanding when dealing with them.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of medical billing experience. Candidates must also demonstrate an understanding of accounting, basic bookkeeping, patient account management, patient account credit and collections. Preference will be given to those candidates that have two (2) years of college in a business of financial field and experience with CPT and ICD-9 coding.

This position will include a 3% geographical differential.
