Cardiovascular & Cath Lab Nurse Jobs
As with all nursing careers, demand and job opportunities for cardiovascular nurses will be excellent in the next decade and beyond. A cardiovascular nurse treats patients that have medical conditions affecting their heart. To become an RN, an individual must complete a nursing program and pass the national licensing exam. While not required by all employers, to be certified as a cardiac/vascular nurse, a nurse must pass the certification exam. In addition, candidates must complete at least 2,000 hours of clinical practice prior to receiving certification. In addition, some cardiovascular nurses complete a Master’s Degree in Nursing and go on to become a clinical nurse specialist. A cardiovascular nurse’s salary starts around $65,000 per year, but a nurse with a Master’s Degree can earn up to $100,000 per year.
