Southwestern Medical Center is a full service, 199-bed hospital in Lawton, Oklahoma, providing Emergency Room, Medical, Surgical, OB/GYN, Neurosciences, Behavioral Health, Imaging, Laboratory, Out-patient and In-patient Surgery, Physical and Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation, In-patient and Out-patient Wound Care, Stroke and Cardiac Care Services.

Southwestern is the oldest hospital in the region, opening its doors in October, 1907.  Southwestern has been an innovator in healthcare for Southwest Oklahoma, with a history of firsts for both the state and the region.  This started with the first hospital in Lawton (1907), the first school of nursing (1907), the first operating room (1907), the first ambulance service in the area (1909),  the first OB services (1912), the first ICU (1959), the first cancer center (1992) and the first cardiac cath lab (1995).  We have a proud tradition of being a trend-setter and we continue that today with the only CARF accredited facility in the region to receive a three-year accreditation,  the only facility in the area to receive Joint Commission accreditation as a Primary Stroke Center, one of two hospitals nationwide recognized by The Joint Commission for  Significant, Sustained Improvement,  SWMC’s Sleep Services program is accredited by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) and is the only program of its kind in Southwest Oklahoma.  SWMC was recently named as one of the top 100 places to work in healthcare.
