a $30 million budget in a 380 bed medical center. Responsible
for all inpatient units including medical, surgical, and
cardiac intensive care units, an eight room operating
suite, and a level one trauma/emergency department. Work
directly with four Division Directors and twelve Nursing
Supervisors.
Developed new standards for care and set up daily mechanisms
which ensure compliance. Established more effective budgetary
and staffing monitoring systems which save over $400,000
per year. Opened six critical care beds and added a head
nurse. |

nursing staff 190 beds, $12 million budget. Established
workable and effective budgetary controls. Installed and
coordinated a capital equipment purchasing system which
saved $85,000. Implemented two medical services. Established,
trained, and supported a service for ventilator dependent
quadriplegics in the Rehabilitation unit. Trained staff
in troubleshooting ventilators and working with patients. |

Responsible for two 24-bed units with a 69 FTE staff.
Established a six bed telemetry unit and a cardiac patient
teaching program. Developed a primary nursing care model
and upgraded the staff from mostly aides to mostly RNs.
Increased the role of head nurses by giving them greater
budgetary and administrative responsibilities. Established
preoperative standards. |
