Position Details:
Perform all duties and responsibilities expected of an emergency room physician. Duties include, but are not limited to: Provision of care for veteran patients presenting with medical emergencies, as well as non veterans and employees on an outpatient basis as needed to stabilize and diagnose patients presenting with acute conditions. Qualified staff use appropriate equipment and supplies, order ancillary studies, arrange inpatient admissions and collaborate as needed with consultants in order to provide optimal care in a timely fashion.
Experience/Qualifications Needed:
Shall be board certified or board eligible in internal, family or emergency medicine and have specific training needed to cover in an Emergency Department.
Shall be certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
All physicians shall be fully credentialed and privileged at the medical center.
Hours:
Coverage shall be provided on an “as needed” basis. In addition, coverage is needed every other weekend Friday – Sunday 7:00pm to 7:00am.
Regular tours are as follows;
Monday –Friday evenings coverage shall be provided from 7:00pm to 7:00am. There shall be one physician for each of these shifts.
Saturdays and Sundays coverage shall be provided 24 hours per day, each physician assigned to one of two 12 hour shifts (from 7am to 7pm or 7pm to 7am) per day. On Saturdays and Sundays a total of 2 physicians may be needed in the emergency room.
Day shift coverage may be required to cover staff absences
