Job Description:

Hospital Profile •MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital is a 326-bed, Level II trauma center. All major specialties are represented in addition to subspecialties including endocrinology, rheumatology, pulmonary, critical care, infectious disease and neurosurgery. •Dedicated dialysis and OB floors. •New open-heart and long-term acute care centers. •High-quality lab with less than a 45-minute turnaround. •Dedicated x-ray in ED. •Excellent ICU/CCU program plus modern resources including radiology reports available on the ICU unit. •Active EMS medical command in addition to EMS training program. •All dictations are available on electronic medical record with access to all patient records via computer. •Dedicated nurse assists with the discharge summaries. •35-bed ED patient visits in 2006 were 54,489. 2007 YTD through August, 2007, 35,667 visits.
•Triumph Hospital is a 33-bed, long-term acute care hospital located on the 5th floor of MedCentral. Triumph’s catastrophically injured or chronically ill, medically complex patients typically require an acute hospitalization averaging 25-30 days.
Hospitalist Program Profile •The Hospitalist Program has earned the respect and support of the Administration, Medical Staff and Nursing Staff. •The Hospitalist Team provides on-site services 24/7 at MedCentral Hospital. Physician scheduling is democratic based on physician input each month. Day shifts are generally 7am – 7pm (triple coverage) and schedule consists of four to seven days on and four to seven days off. Each full time hospitalist will provide up to 192 hours of clinical professional medical services per month consisting of approximately 12 and eight-hour shifts. •The Hospitalist Team provides service response for codes, consultations, inpatient episodic medical care, ICU procedures, unassigned ED call and patient admission/discharge. •Dedicated social worker/case manager and discharge summary nurse to facilitate efficient treatment. •Hospitalist census includes an average of four-eight patient admissions per day. •Dedicated office space for the Hospitalist Team. •Transcription service is available 24/7 with a three-hour turnaround.
