Job Description: The full-time Cardiac Surgery PA will work at the David Grant Medical Center in Fairfield, CA. Provide specialty medical care in cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery under supervision of a physician. Provide specialty medical care in cardiac, vascular and thoracic surgery under supervision of a physician.

The Cardiac Surgery PA will work in the Operating Room and the Clinic. The average work week will be 40 hours, with occasional evenings and weekends. If additional hours are worked, the PA will be paid. Call is 1/4 weekdays and 1/4 weekends. Emergency call is also required on a rotating basis (1/2 nights). The majority of call is telephonic, however if the PA is called into the facility additional compensation is provided.
Job Experience: Two years of experience within the last 3 years as a surgical PA; 1 year must be in cardiac and thoracic surgery.
Education / License / Certifications: Graduate of a Physician Assistant Training Program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for Physician Assistants. Completed additional training, residency or fellowship program in Cardiac surgery acceptable to Surgeon General, HQUSAF is mandatory.

Certification as a PA by NCCPA. Basic Cardiac Life Support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support certifications.
