Job Description: This is an on-call position with the CA Department of Juvenile Justice.
Under medical or RN supervision, registry staff services shall include, but not be limited to:
(a) Providing nursing care consistent with the scope of licensure and/or certification, and in accordance with physicians orders and CDCR facility policies and procedures
(b) Documenting and maintaining medical records in accordance with
CDCR policies and procedures
(c) Performing and documenting basic nursing assessments for assigned patients and reporting significant changes to the attending physician and/or lead nurse in a timely manner
(d) Providing patient education that is consistent with the ward/patient’s medical condition
(e) Assisting the physician with all treatment modalities
(f) Circulating in the surgery suite
(g) Scrubbing the surgery suite
(h) Providing nursing care to pre- and post-operative cases
(i) Making and applying surgical dressings

Generally the nursing duties are light intensity, and primarily involve medication dispensing.
Job Experience: 1 year experience out of the last 3 years as an RN. Part time experience over the last 3 years can count toward 1 year full time equivalent.

Experience in Pediatrics and Urgent Care a plus!
