Job Description:
|
The histotechnologist is responsible for receiving, accessioning, and preparation of stained slides for tissue and biopsies submitted to Anatomic Pathology for review by a pathologist. The process requires competency in the appropriate laboratory computer systems, embedding of specimens, sectioning blocks for slide preparation and staining procedures both routine, special and immunohistochemical. The histotechnologist is also responsible for the preparation of frozen section specimens for review by a pathologist.
